Job Title: Director of Cancer Biology

MAIN REPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply deep knowledge of cancer biology to help develop the overall drug discovery strategy and lead the effort in identifying and proposing actionable targets
- Design and lead project research plans and discovery cascades, related assays, in vitro proof-of-concept, in vivo translational studies, data analysis, interpretation, reporting, communicating strategy and progress to senior management team
- Direct the selection and creation of in vitro assays and in vivo models to support target validation and drug discovery, guiding biological and pharmacological experiments in support of program objectives
- Leverage an understanding of molecular pharmacology and screening technologies, lead the discovery project team in the advancement of identification of development candidates
- Select and manage suitable CROs to complete required biological experiments for compound screening and advancement in the discovery process
- Contribute to regulatory filings, patent applications, manuscripts published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and conference presentations
- Lead by example as a role model with a passionate commitment to cutting edge science coupled with the desire to deliver game-changing new therapies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. degree with 10+ years of relevant academic or industry research experience in cancer biology, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, chemical biology, genetics, and/or oncology target ID, validation, and drug discovery
- Experience in drug discovery project leadership position and proven track record of delivery of small molecule drug development candidates, especially in the oncology area
- Strong record of research productivity with high quality, impactful publications, as well as patent applications
- Deep understanding of molecular drivers of cancer
- Expertise with preclinical in vitro/in vivo oncology experiments and methods
- Skilled in relevant data analysis techniques, including statistical methods, nonlinear curve fitting, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate colleagues in other functional areas, and CROs, including medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, ADME/PK/Tox, in vitro/in vivo pharmacology
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to deploy innovative approaches and technologies in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Chinese and English
